Don't have any knowledge of DataLocker specifically, but a project called 'Security for Human Rights Defenders' run by Tactical Technology Collective http://www.tacticaltech.org/security covers those kinds of issues - maybe someone there to talk to. I have a feeling it is mostly from a software point of view - a physical keypad has the advantage of making things look secure, but a software solution could be just as effective.
