I've had several of these apart and I'm not aware of need to align the
gears. The only one I had with this error had the guide at the bottom
of the right tray arm jump out of the track and that kept the lower two
toners from seating and engaging the drive gears. So have a close look
at that area. The other common issue has been the electric clutches.
I've had several failures of the both the black developer (little or no
black on the page, no error msg) and the registration clutch (top
margin shifted up and 41.3 errors every few pages). Not sure if there's
one involved with the colour developer drive that could give you an
error or not.
