Does the standard check_disk plugin not work on AIX?

HP 4345mfp
error 49.4C02

The error only displays if the fax card is installed. When fax card
is removed, the machine will power up to READY and will
copy/print/scan normally.

Replaced Fax Card.
Updated firmware.
Replaced formatter.
Performed NVRAM init.
Replaced DC Controller.
Replaced firmware card.

No change. Anybody seen this before? What really gets me about this
is that the error only happens when the fax card is installed. I
replaced the fax card with a new one from HP, and got the same error.

Thanks,
Andy

Ahhh, the lovely 49 error code when using the fax on a MFP. This
has been HP's blue screen of death. Here is my solution to help
reduce the number of errors you get.

Dummy the machine down. Take the baud rate down to 14.4 or lower.
Turn all error corrections off.

The problem doesn't lie particularly in the fax board, but the
machine itself. I have found that certain faxes are seen with extra
bits of info that the machine cannot handle, throwing up the error
code.

NOW OF COURSE, there was a string of bad fax boards. It is possible
you recieved one of those. Hit me up offlist on the how's to check
for that.
