I have fixed this printer for my client, but now, we need to connect it
to his network. Cold reset has been done on this printer so the IP
address is 0.0.0.0 as is subnet mask and default gateway. There is no
DHCP (aka auto network) on his network (nor on mine). If I could get
into the embedded web server, I could set the IP.
How can I connect to it?
Thanks,
Andy

Andy-
You could check the driver port info on a user's computer to glean
the IP address.
Subnet mask and default gateway's are not neccessary as I understand
as long as the IP address is correct.

AFAIK, YOU CAN'T. HP apparently never thought of a network without a
DHCP server. Easiest I've found is take along my laptop with
wireless card and a cheap wireless router (could be done with a
wired router/laptop, but mine's wireless). Plug the printer into the
router, wait for the router to initialize, turn the printer and
laptop on. Once they both have IP address's from the router, you can
browse to the printer and manually set the IP and subnet to the
required (desired) settings. Then you can reconnect your printer to
the network and you're good to go.
If anyone else has found a way to do it, without a DHCP server,
please do share. Same issue with installing a Jetdirect card in an
HP 2100 or 2200D (no control panel). At least with the removable
card, you can put the card in a 4000 or similar, configure the card
and then put in the other printer, but not an option with it onboard
in the 1320N.
