Thread: Programatically generating download URLs

Programatically generating download URLs

I'm looking at putting together a Gentoo ebuild for pysvn.
One thing it
would be useful to do as part of this effort is to, given a
version
number, programatically generate a download URL.

The download page has URLs containing opaque numbers which
vary between
releases -- not useful for this purpose. Is there an
alternate download
mechanism?

I'm relying on tigris.org to provide the kit storage for
download.
Their system using the "unuseful" random numbers
to refer to files.

You are not the first to ask. I'll try asking tigris.org for
a more
traditional download mechanism.

I have created a new pysvn site to serve up the source kits
with
predictable URLs at http://pysvn.barrys-em
acs.org.

All sources sources kits will be released in the source_kits
folder
with the obvious naming.
(I havn't got file listing turn on in that folder at the
moment.)
