To all Security+ Forum members -
This is a monthly informational message to all Security +
Forum members that provides basic information about the
forum.
The Security+ Forum is a mailing list for individuals who
hold the Security+ certification or are interested in
learning more about it.
Security+ is a trademark that is owned by CompTIA. This
forum is not sponsored, endorsed, or approved by CompTIA.
Posting Messages
----------------
Any member can post a message to the list by sending e-mail
to securityplus@yahoogroups.com. The following conditions
apply to posted messages:
a. attachments to messages are automatically removed.
b. SPAM-type advertising is strictly prohibited and will
result in the member being switched to moderated status or
removed altogether.
c. promotion of a member's own products and services is
allowed as long as it is not excessive, and as long as it
does not annoy other members in the forum. The forum owner
is hesitant to establish strict rules, but prefers to permit
as much as s/he and/or the forum members will kindly
tolerate.
d. forum members do not appreciate repeated automated
"out of office" messages. Anyone setting up an
"out of office" message that results in several
messages being sent to the forum is subject to temporary
suspension from the forum.
e. messages of blatantly commercial nature, obscene
messages, unethical messages, or messages that may be
illegal in nature are strictly prohibited, and may result in
the immediate removal of all offenders from the forum. THIS
INCLUDES POSITION OPENINGS BY HEADHUNTERS AND RECRUITERS.
Anonymous Postings
------------------
Under unusual circumstances, the forum owner may permit a
forum member to post an anonymous message. Such a message
should be e-mailed directly to the forum owner at
securityplus-owner@yahoogroups.com. The forum owner
reserves the right to refuse to post an anonymous posting
for any reason, or no reason at all.
Replying to Messages
--------------------
The forum has been set up so that replies to messages are
sent to the originator of the message, and not to the entire
list. This has been done to reduce the amount of noise on
the list. If you are replying to a post and wish everyone
on the list to receive it, remember to cc
securityplus@yahoogroups.com.
Before sending a reply to everyone in the forum, ask
yourself, "is my response of interest only to the
person to whom I am replying, or is my response of general
interest?"
Joining the Forum
-----------------
Membership on the Security+ Forum is open to anyone who is
interested in learning more about the Security+
certification. Possession of the Security+ certification is
not a prerequisite for membership on this forum.
Any person can become a member by performing any of the
following:
a. sending e-mail to securityplus-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
b. accepting an invitation e-mail
An invitation e-mail can be sent by any current member of
the forum. The invitation is sent by clicking the
"invite" link found on the forum's home page
(http://gr
oups.yahoo.com/group/securityplus/).
The forum's moderator must approve all new memberships
regardless of how they joined. New members will be
"moderated" for 1-14 days after they become a
member.
Leaving the Forum
-----------------
Any member may remove him/herself from the forum by sending
e-mail to securityplus-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com.
Forum Promotion
---------------
Forum members are encouraged to promote membership to the
forum. All members in good standing are permitted to access
the Yahoo canned promotional material that will permit a
member to display the Yahoo Groups logoo and a link
promoting membership in the Security + Forum on their own
web site.
Miscellaneous
-------------
Any forum member may send e-mail directly to the forum owner
by sending to securityplus-owner@yahoogroups.com.
