Sound Device selection issue

Hi All, I have developed application on linux(ubuntu) that is using sipXtapi shared library files (that have been created successfully). Our application works properly, but i,m trying to work for sound card selection without using sipXtapi device selection functions which works for windows. Our application works fine with defualt sound card, however, when i try to select another sound card installed in our ubuntu machine through our application, another installed sound card doesn't get selected. But, selection of sound cards works fine when i try to select it through either ubuntu command prompt or any another program(using commands that we are running on command prompt). The commands that we run on ubuntu terminal, sudo asoundconf list   ;           ;           ;           ;           : to display sound card list. sudo asoundconf set-default-card CARDNAME     : to set default sound card to CARDNAME specified. And in program, the function that i use : system("ANY COMMAND ON COMMAND-PROMPT"); But, the problem is, when i try to run those commands through our application that is using sipxtapi shared library files( .so files), device selection doesn't work and it takes the default device not newly installed another sound device. Our sipxtapi application uses default device everytime. Thank you very much, Regards, PUNIT
