Hi,

I have just started getting some interesting svn: Malformed network
data errors. Here is the problem: Connecting from the same
workstation, using the same version of smartsvn, connecting to the
same server and svn repository on the same subnet over ssh with
different user accounts, some users are getting the svn: Malformed
network data error while others are not.

I have verified that sshd is not throwing up banners and permissions
to the repository are correct. I have even created a new profile
within smartsvn using a user login information that works and the
error is gone, but as soon as I try to use the users login
information I get the error again. Strange, cause all this worked
last week and I have not changed the client machines nor the server.

Any ideas?

thanks,
m

Hi Michael,

"svn: Malformed network data" can occur, when another application
(instead of svnserve) answers. Maybe there are problems with starting
"svnserve -t" for the user account? Please use Help|Enable Connection
Logging and send the resulting log file directly to me.

I started having the same issue about two weeks ago. Nothing has
changed. When I Enable Connection Logging I get the following in
the connection.log file:

43982 [WorkerThread-13C0737] READ: ' E'

Does anyone know what that means? Thank you for your time.

David
