Hi Marck
I think i found the solution.
It's seem from a Unix symbolic link into one directory.
This symbolic link refers to home directory, and then SmartSVN scan
several time the same directory until it crash. The solution is to set
this directory into the "ignore pattern".

The symlink was in a versioned directory? And it pointed to the root of
the project, so it formed a cycle? Can you please give an example of how
the setup of your file structure was here?
