Problem with SmartSVN + McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0?

I have several users that are encountering problems that seem to stem
from McAfee VirusScan doing a full disk scan while SmartSVN is doing a
refresh.

It appears that when the virus scanner is doing the full-disk scan
either locks a directory or temporarily changes its permissions. When
SmartSVN runs across one of these directories while doing the refresh,
it will change the icon in the GUI to be a folder with a lock on it.
At this point, the folder is now no longer accessible via SmartSVN -
i.e., cannot do an upate, commit, etc., which, of course, is very
inconvenient. So far, the only solution seems to be to rename the
offending directory, do an update, then manually copy modified files.

Unfortunately, since the full-disk scan schedule is set up to assume
we are using laptops, scans are set up to be during the workday, we
can't change when full-disk scans are scheduled, and cannot exclude
certain directories from the full-disk scan.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.
Jamie

If directories are displayed as "locked", then there is probably a
"lock" file created by an antivirus program. Is this the case?

Anyway, the best solution is to exclude the working copies from
full-disk scan to avoid all interferences.
