Thread: configuring fonts and colors for label decorators

configuring fonts and colors for label decorators

Question: Is there any documentation anywhere on how to set
the color of the text label decorations that subclipse
creates for files under source control? The closest I could
find was this message in the user forum:

http://subclipse.tigris.org/servlets/ReadM
sg?list=users&msgNo=7793

Hopefully I am missing something, but without digging into
the code I have no idea how to do this configuration in the

plugin.xml file.

I believe that the feature being referred to was tracked
here:

http://subclipse.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=351

Additionally, could this configuration be integrated into
the preferences UI? Having it in an xml file in a jar is
painful when upgrades of the subclipse come out.

Please forgive my ignorance if I am missing something
obvious -- I did check the forums first.

Regards,
Peter

The feature has always been in the preferences UI (since the
feature
was added of course). I am not sure what else you were
referring to.
Your message was really confusing me until you asked for
that.

You have Subclipse 1.2.x installed I assume?

Yes, I have 1.2.2 installed. Perhaps I am misunderstanding
what that feature is intended to do -- or perhaps what a
label decorator is :$

What I would like to do is configure Subclipse so that the
subversion related fields that show up next to file names in

the Package Explorer are a different color than the file
names themselves, reducing visual confusion for me in that
view. I was (mis?)interpreting the user forum post (http://subclipse.tigris.org/servlets/ReadM
sg?list=users&msgNo=7793)
to be saying that this could be configured in the
plugin.xml file, but without specifying quite how.

It would be great if you could clear this up for me.

Thank you,
Peter

It works exactly like the CVS feature. It colors the entire
line,
including the file name. I guess some people prefer to see
color/font
changes over the icon and other decorators. There is no way
to color
just the SVN information.

In fact there is, at least with the latest 3.3 milestones.
Under
Preferences > Java > Appearance, there is an item
named "Show colored
labels", which might be what the OP is looking for.

Kindest regards,
