SQL with Ruby

I have a testing server set up on my local system which i
set up using
Xampp. This has SQL, apache and phpmyadmin. I've used
InstantRails to
install Ruby. I can create a test db using Instant Rails
console
window and connect to them. When I use phpmyadmin I cannot
see any of
the db's created. Any help grateful to where I'm going
wrong
