Guys,


 


I approved some update to apply lest Friday, but not all went thru. Status 
of download shows the following, and this has been the case since last 
Friday.

I have had a Look  event viewer and have the following error.

Description:
Content file download failed. Reason : The 
server does not support the necessary HTTP protocol. Background Intelligent 
Transfer Service (BITS) requires that the server support the Range protocol 
header.

Thanks, I think I got it running again by using the steps below.
  
 
  
 
  
1. net stop WSusService
  
2. CD "%programfiles%\Update Services\tools\osql\osql.exe" -S <SQL instance name -E -b -n -Q "USE SUSDB update tbConfigurationC set BitsDownloadPriorityForeground=1" 
  
3. net start WSusService
  
[Replace <SQL instance name with your SQL server or %computername%\WSUS if you are using WMSDE]
