Just an update on the situation on WBMP images.
I have the code working again (it stopped for a while after
some API
changes were checked in).
I hope to be able to produce an extension for Firefox on
Windows. I'll
probably won't try however until Firefox 3 beta 2 comes
out.
I cannot provide the extension for Firefox 2, or for Macs.
I'm not in a
position to provide it for Linux at the moment - that might
be possible
in the long term, but I don't feel like I have the time or
energy for
it. (Technically minded users can always compile the
extension
themselves of course.)
(Finally, I saw a comment on a newsgroup which implied that
image
decoders could be implemented in Javascript, which I hadn't
realised
before. If so then it might after all be possible to produce
a
cross-browser version of the extension. I wouldn't hold your
breath
though...)
